The rumour mills are buzzing: Facebook is going to release a mail service. They are calling it Gmail killer, and speculating whether it will impact Google offering.

Well, if it has secure IMAP support, good contacts and calendar sync with phones I will look at it. But Facebook is infamous for its lack of contacts export features. For now, I am a satisfied Gmail user.

Now for somewhat related: I have just tried out Ovi Calendar beta service from Nokia. It is an online calendar service with SyncML synchronisation. I haven’t played around with the online service just yet, but it supports Tasks synchronisation (unlike Google Sync with Mail for Exchange), which is a plus.
